Lux Helps Apple Physical Therapy keep its business healthy
July 6, 2005 - Seattle
Lux, a Seattle- and London-based online design, development, and documentation company, announced today that it has launched a customized, secure internal electronic documentation system for Apple Physical Therapy website.
"We're excited to be a part of this important milestone for Apple Physical Therapy," said Todd Tibbetts, president of Lux. "The delivery of this project marks the beginning of efforts toward a much larger intranet system for the company."
Apple Physical Therapy (APT) operates 20 clinics throughout King, Pierce, and Thurston Counties, in Western Washington. APT is locally owned and thriving as it continues to recruit new employees and acquire new patients.
In addition to physical therapy and athletic training services, Apple provides work conditioning, massage therapy, occupational therapy and women's health services.
Due to the large number of clinics, Apple's team needed new ways to store and share information. They contacted Lux to bring their existing internal documentation system up to a level that enhanced their business. Extensive discovery work helped define the company's current practices and mission.
The company leaders aspire to use only electronic documentation and data storage, a move that excites employees in a highly-competitive hiring industry.
Lux has created eleven electronic forms, using ASP.net, allowing APT staff to update, store, and access from a SQL database. This Internet-based, encrypted database allows Apple to generate extensive reporting, and access patient and employee information from any clinic.
All patient information is highly secure, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Apple Physical Therapy is in position to win more business with their innovative uses of technology.
