Once Again into the Breach: Entrepreneurs Announce Launch of New Seattle Office
October 10, 2001 - Seattle
The Lux Group. Inc., a Seattle-based online services firm doing business as Lux, announced today that it has opened its initial office on Seattle's Capitol Hill.
Founded by Jayson Jarmon and Ben Thompson, founders and former directors of Saltmine Creative, Inc., Lux is an online design and development firm serving as a single source for all online project and corporate outsourcing needs, including graphic design, Web site creation, custom software development, database engineering, project management, systems integration, multimedia development, editorial support, and content management.
"The opportunities for businesses to grow and profit in the digital realm have by no means ended, in spite of the recent downturn in the tech market," commented Lux President Jayson Jarmon. "We're excited about the real opportunities for Lux and anticipate that our new office will allow us to offer the highest quality creative and development services. Our goal is to provide unparalleled client service while creating a company that delivers family wages and is enjoyable to work for."
"The time is right for a company of this sort - back-to-basics, focused on the client, and focused on quality work rather than on the stock market or the wild financial machinations that have surrounded the Internet over the last few years," said Lux Vice-President Ben Thompson.
Jarmon and Thompson founded Saltmine Creative, Inc. in 1995 and were responsible for overseeing the growth of what became Seattle's largest online service company - bootstrapped from a $1,500 investment to a multimillion dollar, multinational corporation. Jarmon and Thompson left Saltmine earlier this year and began building the Lux operation.
Lux is an online design, development, and documentation company, based in Seattle, Washington. Lux clients include Microsoft, PEMCO, T-Mobile, Tommy Bahama, IDX, Valley Medical Center, Akamai Technologies, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute and Rabanco.
